TROUBLE IN PARADISE

MY LITTLE ITALIAN STYLE VILLA IN PARADISE

I really like this house.  It's just the right size so I don't have too much to clean, but it's still big enough to enjoy.  It's a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom villa a block from the ocean and with a ceiling to floor double window on the beach side.  The only problem is that, for about 3 hours a day, it's really hot when the sun is high and shining into the villa.  It's more than worth the trouble.  It usually happens between 4 and 7 pm, a good time to go walking on the beach.

The title of this post is TROUBLE IN PARADISE so here is the trouble.  This expat community was built on Mexican soil.  The property rights are given to the property owners but many patriots who don't live here inside the community (local Mexicans) are challenging the right for the community to have a private park and private beach and a private swimming pool.  Many of them come here to work on the landscaping and some are hired to clean the houses.  They are envious of the beach and are challenging the decision of the home owners association to keep the community facilities private.  They (the Mexicans that come into the community to work) are saying they have a right to use the pool and the beach and the park as it is part of Mexico and still owned by the country.

So right now, they are coming in and using the facilities and threatening to call the police if they are kept out of the community.  The security guards can't keep the non-residents out any longer and if they do, they (security) will be arrested.  So far we have not had a problem with them taking a stand.

The non-residents coming in are respectful of the property and the home owners and they really don't use the beach or the swimming pool.  I hope this continues to be the case.

From what I've been told, the first time they are denied access, the police will get involved.  Already people are discussing hiring their own private security guards for their estates.

Recently, I've been back and forth from America and to Mexico and it seems like it'll be that way as I build my business down here.  I've just starting getting my papers together to get my business established down here.  I'll let you know about it as it becomes more solid.

Well, I'm gonna end the post here.  I just wanted to connect with you, my readers and I hope your summer is going well wherever you are.

I'm still helping Crystal Dennis in her campaign on Go Fund Me.  A new month is beginning and it's a good time to re-share the campaign.  I'm posting a campaign button for you to donate to her campaign.

We'll be fundraising this month for the campaign, around the neighborhoods.  Please share it with your friends and I'll keep you posted on our fundraising activities.

Back to Beauty south of the border

Hi! It's Kiki!

Welcome back to Global Community Park!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer.  Let us know here at GCP, if you are getting to travel or if you're having a wonderful staycation at home in your own town.

I visited the US yesterday, had alot of business to conduct, and had a wonderful time.  I caught up with some old friends.  I meant to contact more but, I just didn't have the time. I enjoyed my visit but I was sure glad to return home.

My cab ride from the border to my house (which is 30 miles), was $12.90 USD.  I also found a bus that will take me to Los Angeles for $25. USD round trip!  From San Diego I paid $125 USD for the same trip.  Can you imagine saving $100. USD just by leaving from Mexico.  Now, the ride from the border on average is 20 - 25 USD but, if you learn to negotiate with the drivers, you can get them down to 12 USD.  Always offer with the renegotiated low price, to pay the toll, if applicable.

I'm gonna cut out now.  I'll check back with you real soon. I'd like
My blind singer.  Please donate to her
GoFundMe Campaign with the
link below on this page. She's
taking this picture outside my house.
Isn't she pretty?
to learn about your travel experiences.  Especially if you've taken a 3 month vacation and the circumstances behind the long vacay.

I know I'm not the only person whose done this so, let's share!

Here's a pic for the road.

Hello from Global Community Park!

Hi! It;s Kiki!

Welcome to Global Community Park!  If this is your first time here, welcome! If you check in regularly, welcome back!

Well, I have been BUSY BUSY BUSY with the singer that I'm supporting on GoFundMe.com.  As you know, she's blind, so I take her to some of her performances and auditions.  She has decided to audition for NBC's THE VOICE so we've been working on her video submissions (she's doing the video submission) to mail in tomorrow.  Sometimes I wish we were going to the open audition, it's easier. Anyway, to hear the song she'll be presenting, go to her Go Fund Me Campaign page and give it a listen.  Here's the link:

So, the newest news in our community is that a house, built 8 years ago, has come up for sale.  They are selling it for $130,000 USD, all cash or $150,000 USD at $30, 000 USD down and $500 per month.

If there's anyone in our Global Community Park community looking for rental property Mexico, let me know via the link provided in this blog.  You can buy the house and lease it to me, my current lease is up in October, so you have time to decide.  I'd buy it myself, but I can't afford it yet.  I will soon though and I'm looking forward to it.

Like I said, it's been super busy here, but I'll keep posting as long as you keep reading.  Drop me a comment sometime in the "comments" section of this blog.  For now, here is a picture of paradise!

TAKE CARE AND ADIOS! TIL MY NEXT POST!

This is my house as seen from the alley and driveway. Told ya, it's a humble

Global Travel, Without leaving town!

Hi! It's Kiki! and

Welcome to the Global Community Park!!

I know that not everyone can travel at a moments notice. Not to mention pack up and move to another country for a few months.

I wanted to share something I'd did when I didn't have the time or inclination to travel.

I'd pick a certain time of the year and clear everything from my calendar.  Yep, you CAN do it if you plan and schedule the time! You can always find a week or a weekend to clear.

Then I'd do the same for my kids.  I'd tell a small lie to their school and say we were going away for a week and I needed some assignments for them to do so they wouldn't be behind when they return.

San Diego, California's Coronado Bridge
BECOME A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN CITY
Then with that time, I would rent a hotel room or suite (we have a timeshare, so it would usually be a week) and have a staycation.  I'd pretend that we were tourists in our own city and arrange to visit tourist attractions that I never took the time to visit because I was so busy everyday.

The first thing I did, was to pick up the area's free magazines which you can get at most area stores.  In San Diego we have a magazine called "the Reader" and another called San Diego Parents Magazine, they both have lots of info on free things to do.

FREE ATTRACTIONS
At Balboa Park, in San Diego again, every Tuesday was free day for many of the museums inside the park (a fifth Tuesday is exempted). If you can't go on a Tuesday, The Tinken Museum of Art is always free.  Also, the first Tuesday in October was free day at the San Diego Zoo.  So you can imagine where we were on the 1st Tuesday in October, YEP! the Zoo and then to Balboa Park. If you decide to use these tips, please call ahead to check if these practices are still in place.

Call the San Diego History Center at 619 232-6203 or Visit www.sandiegohistory.org

Along with the activities at Balboa Park, all over the county there are neighborhoods that will allow you to experience other cultures (Logan section and Little Italy come to mind).  Make plans to explore them.

FREE FOR TOURISTS IN EVERY CITY
As I moved around the United States, I found this to be true all over.  When I lived in New Jersey, I made it a habit to go into Manhattan, New York City, every other weekend and explore a different section of it each time, a different neighborhood, each weekend.

Well you get the idea.  Every town and every city, has areas to explore. Just close your eyes, choose a location and have a wonderful Global Park Experience without leaving your city or town!

NOW, LET'S HELP CRYSTAL!

Thanks for reading Global Community Park, I appreciate it very much and remember, do something for someone else.  Right now, I'm helping a Blind Celtic Singer, Crystal Dennis to get to Chicago to fulfill her dream via a Go Fund Me Campaign, of recording her first CD.

We are now offering reward levels. Check the campaign again and please donate and/or share it again with the updates.

Thank you in advance for your help, here's the link below.

SUNDAY, RELAXING IN PARADISE!

Hi! Kiki here! and
Welcome to Global Community Park!

With everything going on in the world right now, I think that our global park is in need of a restructure!  It'll be interesting to see what happens with Greece and the EU.

My goal for myself, once I adjust to this new lifestyle of mine, is to start traveling the globe.  I envision it about 6 months from today. Right now I'm really enjoying my first time living outside of the US.

CHANGE OF BODY
Today is a beautiful day in paradise, but many days are overcast when you live this close to the beach.  The ocean sounds are so calming and regulating.  My friend who also lives here called to ask me if it's normal for her menstrual cycle to be light, then heavy, then light (I apologize to the men who are reading this).  I said yes it is, but she told me hers is usually another way.  I told her that the tides and the fresh air here have a lot to do with regulation of her body flow.

CHANGE OF SOUL
As for me, I've been very calm and relaxed while here. I'm not on the go all the time.  I actually stop everyday and step out onto my patio to watch the sunset.  Then I step out on the other side of my house to watch the sunrise in the morning.  I have a patio set on the sunset side and I plan to put one on the sunrise side so I can have breakfast there and watch the sunrise. Whenever I return to the states for business meetings, I can't wait to get back to paradise.  Granted, there are more activities to do in the US but, also more stress.

CHANGE IN FINANCES
I'm finally catching up with my finances and will have the extra money to better enjoy the lifestyle here sooner than expected.  We have a stable less than a quarter mile away, where we can rent a horse and ride on the beach for $10 USD per hour.  Also, the shopping here is really cheap.  I plan to learn to play golf  on the golf course, which is about 3 miles away, for $6 USD per day.

NOT ALWAYS PARADISICAL
What don't I like here?  Around, 3:30pm it gets VERY hot.  The sun is over the ocean and with the ceiling to floor windows, it gets very hot and stays hot for 4 - 5 hours.  Also, as you know already (if you're a steady reader of my blog), I don't like the cobblestone streets.  Although, very pretty and Mediterranean style, they hurt your feet when you walk on them and well, they are everywhere!

Okay, I wanted to keep it light today. It is Sunday after all!  I hope you're enjoying your day and relaxing too.  If you are, good for you!  If you're not!! SHAME on you! GO AND RELAX NOW!!

Here are some pictures to help you relax.

The beach I step out onto everyday, picture taken with a panoramic
effect.
Sunset from my patio, I don't even mind the wires.  It's just soooo
beautiful!

Once again working the amateur photographer skills. Always
seeking the photo ops as I walk the grounds.

Lots more to share, but not today.  Adios, til my next post!!

FINALLY! INSIDE THE MINI MARKET VIDEO POST!

Hi! It's Kiki and Welcome back to Global Community Park!

I hope your holiday was wonderful (if you celebrate the American Independence Day).  I was hoping I could get a good view of some firework displays but, the cloud cover was so thick here last night that all I could do was listen to the fireworks and smell the smoke from the displays.  They seem to be coming from 2 different directions.  Some to the south and some to the north of my location.

TECHNICAL  ISSUES WITH MY VIDEOS

I have been having issues with my videos.  I think I have the problem licked now though.

Also, just when I had formatted the videos for uploading, my computer crashed.  Everything was in different locations and I had to search for the files yesterday.  I restored it to an earlier date and that didn't solve the issues and then, 4 hours later,  when I finally found the files, most of what I did within the last week is gone now.  I have a lot of empty file folders.  NO FUN :(

Well I reformatted the video for upload and now I can show you a little of where I am.

This video was taken on July 3rd.

OK... Now, I'm gonna try to upload another video of my walk into the mall and the store.

So finally, there it is.  The trip into the store.  YAY!  Tomorrow, I'll post the walk back to my house, walking through the expat community.

The reason I share this with you is because many people think that visiting Mexico is unsafe.  I want to show that a person with very little knowledge of the language can enjoy Mexico.

Personally, I love it down here.  I can leave my door to my house unlocked, (I don't, just out of habit) but I could.

I feel very comfortable here.  If you decide to visit Mexico, consider going out into the neighborhoods and meeting the people who are outside of the tourist area.  They are very nice.

Well, thanks for being patient with me and my video problems. I'd planned to put them all in the same blog post but, this is probably better to put them in separate posts.

Once again, I'll share the GoFundMe badge for Crystal Dennis. The Celtic singer who is trying to raise the money to record her first CD.  Click this link to read her story.

MY VIDEO OFTHE MINI MARKET IN MEXICO

Hi! It's Kiki! and Welcome back to Global Community Park!

Well, I finally got my video to upload.  I had to use the cell phone so it came out weird.  But, here is the video for you to see.

I filmed it last Tuesday, when I went to the oxxo mini market to pick up a few things we needed.  In the upcoming week, I'm finally gonna make it to Walmart and take you with me to the major shopping mall.  We'll see lots of shops, a Home Depot, Movie Theater, Burger King, and lots more.

For now, enjoy the video.  I just tried to upload the video and it's too large.  I'll make it smaller and upload tomorrow.

SORRY

I Think I finally figured the vlog out.  Lets hope it takes.  Here it goes!!!!!

Well I'm still have problems with this video.  I'm gonna put it on anyway  (this method was NOT MEANT for women over 55).  I'll fix it later (having a hot flash right now).  I have 2 more videos to show you but for now I am done.

I want to remind you go PLEASE help Crystal Dennis in her GoFundMe Campaign.  She only has $5.00 donated.

The strange coincidence is that she, a blind woman, donated $20,00 to a woman who wanted to go to France to play with the Symphony.  I have such hope for her.  She has such a pure heart and I know that someone out there does too.  Once again, if you can't donate, share her story.

ADIOS UNTIL NEXT TIME!! p.s.  WE'LL GO INSIDE THE MARKET NEXT VIDEO!

The Answer to "Do We Really NEED a Bank Account?"

Hi! This is KIKI and welcome back to the Global Community Park!!

Well, I don't mean for this to be a financial blog, but, I had that experience where the bank was complicating my finances abit.

Once again the problem was resolved, but this just made me think about whether I need the bank account at all?

I started reading about alternative currency like bartering and bitcoins. Found out alot about bitcoin and how to mine them and you could find out more in my other blog, The Great Equalizer at www.thegreatequalizr.blogspot.mx , based on the theories that money and the understanding of it is the makes us all equal.

REMEMBER TO DONATE TO THE GOFUNDMECAMPAIGN OF CRYSTAL DENNIS, A BLIND CELTIC MUSIC SINGER.

Crystal has just become the number 2* performer on Reverbnation in Celtic Music. They also used her singing the National Anthem to launch their weekend for EchoMusic app for Amazon.

Her latest upload on the internet is more evidence that she is destined to have a great singer career.

I hope you have a heart to donate to her Campaign.

 HAPPY 4TH JULY!
